Chelsea are believed to be looking at signing German striker Luca Waldschmidt from Bundesliga club SC Freiburg.
The Daily Mail has found several rumours linking Bundesliga players to Premier clubs in the upcoming window.
One of which is Freiburg’s Luca Waldschmidt.
Waldschmidt is a 23 year old striker with a solid youth international career.
Between U16 and U21 levels, the German has 27 appearances for Germany, scoring 17 goals.
German national team coach Joachim Löw has seen something he likes, giving Waldschmidt three appearances for Die Mannschaft.
Signed to SC Freiburg in 2018, Waldschmidt has scored 14 goals in 43 appearances for the club.
The Freiburg striker missed six weeks of football through November and December with a knee injury, but has still managed five goals in 15 appearances this season.
Besides that set back, Waldschmidt has remained relatively injury free through his career.
German newspaper “Bild” reported that Freiburg has not received any formal contact regarding a transfer, though they are aware of the interest.

Waldschmidt is contracted at Freiburg until the end of 2022, meaning a transfer fee would need to be paid.
The Daily Mail estimate the transfer fee would be around £20-25 million.
£20-25 million for a striker with a low scoring rate is quite an ask.
Also to consider is Chelsea’s current strikers and where Waldschmidt would fit in to the club.
Chelsea already has Michy Batshuayi and are closing in on extending the contracts of Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud.
Abraham would be first choice, with Batshuayi and Giroud offering depth.
Also pushing for minutes is youth top scorer Armando Broja.
Waldschmidt would likely land between Giroud and Broja, meaning his match time would be severely limited.
He is already too old to play in the PL2, so he would need to be prepared to go out on loan.
